WELCOME TO TERM 2 WEEK 1!

WOW - we are BACK! 

It will be great to see our Team back on Monday! We are sure a restful holiday has been had, and we look forward to launching into some super learning this term. There are many events and activities booked in, and we will do our best to keep you up to date with them all through this blog. Term 2 is notoriously busy in Matawara, with our annual Speech Competition, Cross Country, Tech, and no doubt Kaiapoi High School will be visiting us to talk about High School at some stage.  

This week we will focus on getting back into our school routine, and reconnecting with friends that we may not have seen for some time. We will be starting multiplication and division within our Maths - No Problem programme, in addition to beginning to examine persuasive writing in detail, and of course a NEW serial story! 

Please remind your child to have a novel to read for DEAR on MONDAY! They will understand this instruction. 

WINTER TERM - 

This term is the first of our winter terms, so we welcome the children bringing their slippers to school to wear in our team space.  

CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING - 

As we are getting ready for our annual Cross Country at the Kaiapoi Pony Club, we will be taking part in fitness training, and games to raise our heart rates! This being said, children need to ensure they have shoes that are appropriate for running at school, in addition to wearing deodorant each day!

WELCOME TO WEEK 11!

WEEK 11 - Finally! 
It has been a long term, with many adjustments made along the way, but we have reached the end. It is lovely to now have the Easter break with us, so we can all get some very much needed rest and relaxation, as I know I need it! 

For our final week we will have a very much relaxed programme, with collaborative and creative tasks planned, in addition to our fort day, before a good clean up on Thursday. 

Yesterday, Jenny Collinson worked her magic with our team with another fabulous art task of creating 'personality profiles' using google draw. We will show case a montage of these once they are completed, but it is fair to say we were all hooked right from the get go! 

THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO - 

Next term we will look forward to some exciting events, with our School Cross Country in Week 3, and the PCT Competition in Week 4 (Matawara only). We ran the time trials for this event right back at the beginning of the term, so we will be in touch with those children who will be representing our school at this event soon!

We will also begin our preparation for speech writing and presenting, with the Rotary Speech Competition happening during the term for Year 8's also.
