WELCOME TO WEEK 8!

Welcome to Week 8!

What a wonderful time was had at our 'Triathlon' today! Here is a link to any photos that we took of our Team as they were competing. Matawara really enjoyed the exercise bikes and we are so pleased to see so many of them 'Choosing to be More!' Please note, that the Triathlon now marks the end of our swimming season, with the pool now officially closed. We will remain active in our team in other ways, as this provides a much needed brain and mask break!

This week we have also worked hard on our Maths Assessment, Inquiry river fact files, and both Reading and Writing in Literacy, with verbs and adverbs being a big component of our writing. Our class treaty is beginning to take shape, and it has been a wonderful demonstration of TEAMWORK, with each one of our team contributing to it, and mucking in to get it done when needed! It will be proudly on display in our Team when it is completed.

You may have heard from your children about our map of the "Hundred Acre Wood" (Pooh Bear reference) that they completed in class. Each child was given a grid reference to do and needed to work with surrounding groups to ensure there was continuity in the finished product. We are SO impressed with what has resulted! We are continuing our mapping theme, with a huge map of our school surroundings. This is part of our Inquiry Cultural Narrative focus for 2022 - keep your eyes peeled for that!

EMAILING  TEACHERS -
We ask that you please email all three teachers whenever contacting us. It really is essential with teachers coming and going through out the week, and helps us to best cater for your child.
Our email addresses are -
k.morrison@clarkville.school.nz, l.baran@clarkville.school.nz, j.collinson@clarkville.school.nz - save it as a contact list to make life easier!

MATAWARA ASSESSMENT -
Hopefully you have all noticed your child's Leadership reflection on Hero. These went out a couple of weeks ago. Keep your eyes peeled for our Maths Assessment, that will come out in Week 8, with Literacy and inquiry coming out before the end of the term also.

Have a super weekend!
Kristie, Linda, Jenny and Helen.
