WELCOME TO WEEK 7!

WEEK 7 and the Term is FLYING away! 

This week we were lucky to watch the Year 8 Rotary Speech Interschools competition against Ōhoka and what a treat it was! There was a very high level of competition of all of the speakers, and we are super proud to announce that CLARA took out the win, and the right to move forward to the final stage at the Rangiora Town Hall on Monday night! We wish her the very best as she bravely takes on this challenge, and have every confidence that she will NAIL IT! 

Our speeches will end on Monday, with the last of the team, who have been away with illness etc. presenting their speeches. We will then complete our assessment of this, which you will see come up on Hero in due course. 

TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION - 
The Tech Centre are updating their information for students, and would like confirmation of parents being happy for them to use unnamed student photos from our team in their newsletters? If you DO NOT consent to this, please write your name on this document and I will pass this information on to the Tech Centre. Please do this before MONDAY 13 JUNE.

NETSAFE WORKSHOP - 
Next Monday 13th June at 7pm, Netsafe are running a workshop at school in the MPF and we would like to encourage both you and your child to attend this. 

Keeping children safe in online environments is a challenge facing parents. In this presentation,  Paula Wistrand, Netsafe Education Advisor will cover key online safety messages for parents and whānau. She will provide information and tools to support tamariki to safely navigate online environments and manage the challenges and risks.  The presentation will cover:

• Quick starter tips for parents, whānau and young people
• Information to enhance your digital parenting knowledge 
• Details about the online risks and challenges your child may face 
• Advice about how you can help your child if something goes wrong online 

DON'T FORGET THE PTA WHITE ELEPHANT SALE! 

This will be on SUNDAY at school! Please come down and support this from 11am onwards!

Please sign your child up for a Jumping June profile page. This is a whole school fundraising campaign for NZ Heart Foundation. We are aiming for every child to raise $10 www.jumpingjune.co.nz
